F.B.I. Sharpens Scrutiny of Syrians in U.S. for Signs of Retaliation
Here we go again:
The F.B.I. has increased its surveillance of Syrians inside the United States in response to concerns that a military strike against the government of President Bashar al-Assad could lead to terrorist attacks here or against American allies and interests abroad, according to current and former senior United States officials. In the name of protecting Syrians from their own government, our government is ratcheting up its domestic surveillance program. What a perfect illustration of how DC's policies help no one but DC insiders. The American people have no stake in the Syrian civil war, and oppose intervening by wide margins. But perpetual war not only enriches the well-connected war industry, it also boosts the power of government. So who's going to protect us from OUR government?
