Congress backs Obama's war
Perpetual war is the one thing that unites Democrats and Republicans. So it's no surprise that Eric Cantor, John Boehner, and Nancy Pelosi just announced their support for DC's latest military adventure:
The leaders of both parties in the House of Representatives emerged from a White House meeting to endorse U.S. military action against Syria, with House Speaker John Boehner saying only the United States has "the capability and capacity" to respond to the use of chemical weapons. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi added that Washington must respond to actions "outside the circle of civilized human behavior."What a revealing statement. Since DC has "the capability and capacity" to wage war, it must. As "Mad" Madeleine Albright once put it, "What's the point of having this superb military you're always talking about if we can't use it?" In other words, the weapons and personnel in the US armed forces are toys for those in power to play with. No matter that attacking Syria could spark a regional war, or blow back here at home in ways we cannot imagine. War is what DC does, no matter which party is in power.
