Reading Mad Magazine is "wasted" time? As opposed to reading Time, The New Republic, The Atlantic, Vanity Fair or other such bilious publications?

The beauty of MAD magazine was that it fostered healthy cynicism in young people and pointed out plenty of holes in what the establishment was telling us. Today, such journalism is considered seditious, treasonous, and giving aid to the enemy. Slim
